That's right we turn another year older! Originally starting as a Banjo Tooie fan site in 1999, we launched as the Rare site you see before you today on this day in 2000. We have certainly come a long way! We have something in the works to celebrate our birthday but you'll have to wait another month for it. All I can say is that it will be very exciting :)

With the upcoming higher definition, smoother running release of Perfect Dark, from Wednesday the 3rd June (now), Gold Xbox LIVE members will have two weeks to download the new Perfect Dark theme, with Silver members joining in on fun during the second week (Wednesday June 10th).

This E3 is a quiet one when it comes to Rare but we believe that doesn't mean it will stay that way for long. Big things are on the way and it's only a matter of time before we see them. Have faith, everything is worth the wait!

2009 brings a wind of change at Rare and with it we know there's at least one Xbox 360 title being revealed later this year. It's still not known whether we'll see it at E3 in June but there's no harm in a little encouragement to Rare, especially since this could be, the last ever Xbox 360 title we'll see from Rare. As for the rest of their lineup, there are also hints at early stage development for the next generation as Rare reshapes its focus for the future.
