IMO, Halo is exceptionally boring and cliched and has terrible off-line play. The only redeeming thing about Halo is the online play. Timesplitters is more innovative, it is not just a endless shooting gallery. The game has both superb off-line and on-line play, It is also not afraid to mock itself and is good fun. Ultimately it is up to you.

Halo's better, because Timesplitters is like one big shooting gallery. In Halo, you need to employ tactics, and think about how you're going to approach any situation. The enemies are pretty smart. In Timesplitters you rarely have any meaningful choice to make. TS is great, with so many challenges and trials to play through, with an incredibly varied cast of characters, and is great in multi. It's also quite a light game really, with Free Radical's GE origins still gleaming, for better or worse in places, but Halo is more immediate, starts challenging then only gets tougher, and does keep the player engaged, more often than not.
