Hurry and suggest cds before I lose my motivation.

I've expanded my piracy roots and should be able to get just about anything.

Good band indeed, and their new album is amazing too, I still prefer The Poison though after a few runs through the new one.
Running With Scissors
Someone recommend me some good metal bands, for example KC, what's your top 3?

I'm getting sick of thrash metal right now but i'm looking for a modern band (so i can buy new albums later on in life).

My top 3 is Death, Strapping Young Lad and Amon Amarth. But if you're looking for modern then eh? Like modern rock? If so, Black Stone Cherry is an awesome Modern Rock band.

Protest the Hero, a Canadian metal band, just released Fortress yesterday. Recommended to all metalheads.

BFMV and Atreyu are terrible. Some good metalcore would be Darkest Hour or Dillinger Escape Plan.
Drew Golden
I love It Dies Today. Especially their cover of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the silence" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7y4YeZnkxo

Here is It Dies Today's cd Sirens---http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GS2MPOLQ

Got all of their stuff, but thanks for sharing with the others wink.gif

I'll check out Darkest Hour and Dillinger Escape Plan then.

Oh and I forgot to mention one more,
  • Sixx:A.M. (Nikki Sixx's new band, awesome stuff)

Though they're more of a heavy metal/hard rock mix.
Mako the Irrelevant
Some of you really have a very diluted view, as to what Metal really is. It isn't the bands that have vocals reminiscent of the Emo-Scene. It sure as hell is not this 'It Dies Today', It's not the fellows who look like they'd belong to My Chemical Romance. It sure as hell is not this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m_MJX58qk8

What that there is Metalcore. No, I won't even give it that, It is Watered down Metalcore, and Metalcore is already terrible as is. Sure, they have 'Metallic Riffs', but the riffs are pretty lame and not very unique, and some Screamo/Hardcore yelps in the mix. Hell, I even hear a damn lot of Radio Pop Influence. This, is what is considered what you should be looking for when seeking metal my friends:

Power Metal
Morgana LeFay (Thrash Influences)
Rage
Blind Guardian

Folk Metal
Eluveitie (Very Catchy)
Einherjer
Ensiferum
Turisas - Rasputin (Disco Song Cover)Turisas 2 (orignal Song, Epic as hell)
Skyclad (The Godfathers of Folk Metal, Good Listen)
Bathory (More so 'Viking Metal', but whatever)

"Stoner" Metal
Alabama Thunderpussy
Kyuss (Kudos to anyone who can Guess the Brainchild of Kyuss)
Orange Goblin (Great band)

Death Metal (this genre always varies with people, I can understand why definitely not appealing to all)
Obituary
Death (Father's of Death Metal, Hence the name)
Morbid Angel

Speed/Thrash Metal
Grave Digger (Cheese Warning!)Grave Digger 2
Kreator
TANKARD
Sabbat (Martin Walkier Is a Genius, but Strange, God Bless him for Skyclad as Well.)
Municipal Waste

Notice ANY DIFFERENCE in these bands, from the bands we hail as metal on Fuse'd and MTV today? This is what metal is all about, sweaty hot man on man mosh pits to creative and influential music.

I'll End on This note, Please don't refer to THAT music, as our beloved Music. It's already embarrassing enough that Metal has one rejected cousin already (Nu-Metal), We'd rather just forget about his inbred brother-in-law, Metalcore. Oh Drew... How your topics make me rant and ever fuel your undying loathe for metal. Oh, and to be proper, and on topic. Find me...

Eluveitie - Slania

(Hows about we all be a little open minded here smile.gif, And don't hesitate to ask for more music such as this, always looking for my prodigy!)
Don
The name Kyuss is a D&D monster.

May I suggest Juke Kartel, not metal...but I went to a gig and liked it.
Pope
Boxcutter - Oneiric
Modeselektor - Happy Birthday!
Modeselektor - Hello Mom!
Björk - Volta
The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath

Cheers.

Days Of The Green - The Green Album / Days Of The New II (1999)

That's all for now, thanks in advance.

I see Mako has discovered Agalloch. Everyone should check that band out, especially with most of us being in the middle of winter at the moment.

This might get some of you to check out Protest the Hero. Check out "Limb from Limb" by the band, it has a keyboard solo by Vadim Pruzhanov that sounds like an NES game.

Alestorm has just released their first album aswell, the "true scottish pirate metal" band.

Agalloch, been listening to them since their first album, truly spectacular artists.

Alestorm, wonderful band.

biggrin.gif Nah! I very much fancy some good Melo-death, I just felt like giving some people a little bit of a different taste today. I can link some great Melo-Death bands though, I'd never expect you to be into them.

Stereotypes, I know. But we all have them tongue.gif

Drew, any chance you can Locate Eluveitie - Slania ? or Children of Bodom - Blooddrunk (this album will most likely be crud, but worth a listen i suppose) I've had no luck thus far with torrents, the only Blooddrunk I've found is just a renamed Bullet for My Wah-lentine album.

Thanks!
