My guess is either extensive traveling in the game, or there's something about that multiplayer component...
The screenshots themselves look awesome, it looks really different and new. Can't wait to see where they go with this

Wow this is officially the greatest year in gaming for me. Banjo AND a Viva sequel!?!? All my doubts about Rare have been cast away.

Rare's latest Xbox 360 venture, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, won't strictly follow the traditional gameplay of the previous two colorful platformers, but will have a heavy focus on vehicles and vehicle building. According to alleged details from the latest Game Informer mag—the same issue posted about earlier—the game will feature some 1600 vehicle parts and weapons with which one can customize their ride, from bikes to karts to planes.
oh god i hope not.

Why not? Sounds cool to me. There was one example with how there's a task to collect some coconuts. You can either create a vacuum out of parts and suck them up, or make a helicopter, attach a basket and scoop them up. Think of the possibilities!

It looks a great game, nice finds! The grpahics look amazing, and the vehicles are a nice touch, glad to see they aren't sticking to the same of stagnating formula. Full-on platformers are so 90's

It's nice to see Rare are going with a new style, graphic and gameplay-wise. For all we know the vehicles might actually be a nice idea and work well within the game, i'm guessing it's their replacement for those teleportation pads like they had in Tooie which would transport you to certain places in each worlds.

I don't want a 'build it & drive it' game. I want a good ol' platformer that Banjo Kazooie always was.

Guys who might aswell face it, you knew Rare wouldn't go make the same old Banjo Kazooie for the 360. They're been trying to refresh their franchises all since Grabbed By The Ghoulies and i'm betting this could be for the best.

No matter how great this game turns out, Rare will never equal the amount of support for the Xbox 360 as they gave to the Nintendo 64.
Perfect Dark, James Bond 007, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day and more, as opposed to Conker: Live & Reloaded and Viva Pinata.
Lets just hope that Threeie will be as revolutionary as just about any game Rare made on the Nintendo 64 was.

But that's exactly how they ruined Perfect Dark Zero. :\

Agreed, I wish they had just taken the old Banjo look and added more polygons.

Yeah, the 360 needs some good platformers.
I know I'm judging it before I've even seen gameplay but it just feels like all these great companies are ruining these awesome franchises. Damnit.
But I'll agree on Rare knowing what they're doing in the art direction, though - the environments look stunning.
