Convincing new Banjo Interview video

Hey, look- I know there's some* confusion and angst about the recent showing of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, but hear Rare out! Trust me, this dude explains it how it is, and really think about what he says before you get mouthy. I can't wait to build a walking machine, personally. It's probably rubbish for all of the challenges, but a 3 legged walker would be K00L! rolleyes.gif

Well this is great Rare still has it. The multiplayer for Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts sounds great I can't wait to get this game.

Can someone put this on Youtube? GameTrailers doesn't work on the Wii =(

I dunno, I the more I think about the game, the more I like it. But I still wish we were getting a BK3.

My main problem is Rare basically said when we knew nothing about Nuts and Bolts is that it would still be a platformer, but with a mechanic tossed in to mix things up. What we got was a driver with platforming parts. Which disappointed many.

Deep inside, we were all concerned. Because it came like a shock. NO ONE expected the game like this. But now that it has gone a few days, and we get more and more info, it's not THAT bad actually. It could be a great game, who knows? Let's see the game with an opened mind and maybe someday we will see its inner beauty.

Or maybe it's horse ######. But who knows? It could be lots of fun.

I think this E-mail I sent to Rare is one of the best things they could do. I posted this, but incase you didn't see it...

I sent an email telling you my criticisms for BK:N&B. But the other day I had an idea, you guys could make a proper BK3 once BK:N&B was done! Rare, I'm sorry but you just lost about half of your fans when you unveiled Nuts and Bolts, Because although the game looks great, its not a Banjo game. You even said it yourselves. It was a different game with Banjo's face slapped on it. But I'm sure a lot of fans would lighten up on this matter if you announced a proper BK3 for the 360 or heck, even the DS! Mario 64 DS proved the DS can handle traditional 3D platforming, so why not Banjo? You can, and all the Nintendo fanboys who loved Kazooie and Tooie will buy the game, and sales for Nuts and Bolts might go up if you make a proper Banjo! It would please the fans, Nintendo fans would buy it in an instant, and you guys would make lots of money! Everybody wins!

True every one is concerned about a game like a good example is the game that were talking about now, but the new changes may be a good idea for this game since the 360 control is different from the 64.

No one expected anything like a port of the old games to the 360 but I was hoping they'd keep at least some of the platform elements and not dump they genre completely. As long as the puzzles and witty dialog are there I think I'll survive... somehow. Seems like they're trying to fuse a sort of an intuitive sandbox element with linear game-play, or something, which is definitely on my list-of-things-I've-yet-to-see-done-well. But for all our speculation we won't really know until we actually have the game in our hands. It's not like Rare need listen to us fans anyway; we'd buy an empty Banjo-Threeie case, and a poster, and maybe a tshirt. rolleyes.gif

Speaking of witty dialog though "nuts and bolts" might very well be our first sexual innuendo, provided the appropriate context is supplied ingame. Though that all seems like wishful thinking if not less bassed on the game play footage but we'll see...

On a related note this seems reminiscent of the Paper Mario series. The first two were some of the only games that implemented turn-based combat well before they abandoned it for the third. At least by my definition of well which replaces any sort of grinding with platforming. The third installment was good, no doubt, but didn't quite stand up to the first two.

That video was very good to watch. I feel very good about this game. Very good. And I think Rare has done the right thing. They have kept the series from becoming stale and last-gen. And I have a feeling the game will be Teen rated. So maybe the humor will be a little more racy, or they can do more things with Grunty's rhymes. Because everything rhymes with "damn".

It's still mostly speculation. I am hearing a lot more that they'll be including some of the things from the days of yore in parts of N&B so I'm feeling better then the initial footage left me. I don't mind a new direction but Banjo isn't Mario and I'd anticipate some connection in game mechanics. Great game versus great Banjo game I suppose.

Also I completely disagree with the the "New Generation" "Last Generation" mentality. It's fine for simple classification but people make is seem like the fundamentals of game design for this generation of games/consoles must be somehow different or new, or that games made in this generation or for current consoles are inherently better.

I think so too!

Rare will do a great job!

I can't wait any longer to play this game!
