Jeux-France are reporting that Nintendo has announced a distinctly Wii focussed press conference for GC, which takes place from the 23rd of next month, in Leipzig, Germany. Nintendo will aim to demonstrate how it's not all talk, during the media and industry professionals (first) day of the show.
According to the article, rumours suggest that release dates and prices may be discussed. They also suggest that Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and/or Satoru Iwata could decide to participate in this years' show.
The Ninty media briefing is scheduled to run from 10:15 to 11:15 that morning.

The site also says that other conferences from the likes of

Microsoft, UbiSoft, Konami, Square Enix, Electronic Arts, etc
are also likely, seeing as GC is becoming an increasingly more important event for Europe, and acknowledged more world-wide.

There's also news from the same article that the French Official Nintendo Magazine has reported that Nintendo will also use the Games Convention as a platform to bring five new games to the worlds' attention.

A bit more has come to light regarding Nintendo's Leipzig Games Convention schedule, thanks to IGN:

The GC 2006's official website reveals that beginning at 10:15 a.m. on August 23, Nintendo will hold a press conference from the exhibition titled: "Wii prove our promise." Few details about the conference itself are known, but the title is very telling.

Another, separate event titled "Electronic Arts / Nintendo" is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. the same day.

What on earth can this be about, I wonder... unsure.gif huh.gif Should be good, no matter what, though.

Another interesting occurence is Ubisoft's admittal that it has 7 games currently in development for the system. Two of which are currently known (Rayman Raving Rabbids/Red Steel.) IGN promise to reveal the juicy details on the other games "very, very, very soon".
I can't recall where I saw the following quote now, but it was along the lines of...'we know one of them, and if you're an Ubi fan, you'll be pleased'.

I'll throw in Prince of Persia Wii (considering the Wii mote posibilities on gameplay), with BG&E 2 (bearing in mind the console's target audience, and that game's ability to achieve brilliance without also engaging a potty mouth, or running HP out of the market, in the ketchup stakes) as a realistic wild card, as my candidate for what that might be.
Besides, I doubt there's the slightest possibility of Assassin's Creed making a move to Wii, and the Prince is still quite popular.

I think we'll get all the info and the "Megaton" there.
(Get the hype train going)
Sleep Question
Dang, I'm starting to get hyped for this event!

Blazing Angels isn't new. It's already out for Xbox and Xbox 360.
It turns out that a Wii PoP isn't out of the question, either. Neat.
I haven't played Far Cry at all yet (the overall feedback that I read, both from reviews and forum commentary, that it really wasn't FC on the Xbox release in the end put me off sufficiently) so the Wii version could be a good buy, featuring as it is said to, "elements" from FCI:Evolution, along with all-new content and scenarios.
Thanks for the link. smile.gif

I have herd much about Far Cry too I might pick it up just because I wanna take the series for a spin.I'm hoping ubi will put some more fate into the wii and put the Splinter Cell franchise on it but after SC:DA I'm not sure if there will be another game unsure.gif .Overall I'm glad the Wii has some back up and doesnt go alone in this round of console wars. cool.gif
